Mrs. Moyer passed away Monday, September 11, 2017.

Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Moody Pope (Tommy); grandchildren, Thomas Carroll Pope, III (Amy), Kirklyn Pope Simonton (John), Richard Moody Pope (Kathy), and George Jackson Pope (Jamie); great-grandchildren, Emma, Evan, John Thomas, Charlie, Greer, Katelyn, Will, Lydia, Ellie, Jack, and Anna; sister, Helen Kirk Cole; and many very special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.J. Kirk; her first husband, William Lloyd Moody; her second husband, Richard C. Moyer; and her siblings, Lillian, Mallory, Clara, R.E., B.F., O.G., and J.H.

Born in Rockmart, GA on January 12, 1914, Kirk was a vital member of the Anniston community and lived the last 10 years of her life at Brookdale Senior Living in Miramar Beach, FL. During her years in Anniston, she was an active member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church and especially loved the Phebean Sunday School Class. Kirk was an amazing mother to her only daughter, Dianne, an even more amazing grandmother to her 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Fondly known as Gran Nana, Kirk was most proud of her daughter and son-in-law, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. As matriarch of the family, Kirk loved the family gatherings at Dianne's that were always full of joy, laughter and love.

Kirk's years of working as an R.N. in Anniston coupled with her over 32 years as a volunteer Red Cross Nurse are an example of her work ethic and compassion for others, noted by her many awards from Red Cross and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. When she was 90 years old, Kirk traveled with Parker Memorial Baptist to Honduras as a medical missionary. Her respect for medicine and ability to care for others were some of her greatest gifts that led to her greatest accomplishments.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas, Foundation for Southeast Texas Disaster Relief Fund, Regional Medical Center Foundation, or the American Red Cross.
